Chris Smith A.K.A Ted Scarf
Born in Owen Sound, grew up listening to Beethoven, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin. Learned to play piano, but later fell in love with guitar. Was sent away to private school when he showed a capacity for not liking school. Was a part of the Kitchener/Waterloo punk evolution ('Artistic Endeavors'), playing in the 'Guard Dogs', 'Special Guests', and later 'DV8". Shared the stage at the 'Kent Hotel' with 'Rheostatics', 'Masterbeats', 'The Zealots', 'Wars in Transit', and 'A Certain Ratio'. He was also 'Big Monkey Do' with 'Belinda Wu' and 'Wally Jericho'. The cassette release 'Where's the Kaboom' raised some eyebrows on the campus radio circuit. They played live shows at the 'Princess Theatre' with 'Geoff Bennett' and the 'Brothers Willms'.
Ted later moved to Toronto and made some noise with 'Sonic Boom'. He recorded and mastered many CD's and projects with Fran McKendree, Ali Koushkani, and others. He worked at 'Saved by Technology' for 10 years and then freelanced as a Mac Technician specializing in Music applications. He can still be found lurking behind mixing boards and computers in various capacities.
Adrian McCann
From an early age Adrian was always into engineering and production. After finishing high school and playing in many bands over the years he decided that maybe being an artist wasn't for him and that he wanted to be on the other side of the glass. So Adrian went to school where he graduated amung the top in his class for audio engineer and production. After school he took an assistant engineers job working at Wellesley Sound where he learned the tricks of the trade from long time engineer/producer Jeff Maculloch working with such artists as Mel Brown and Luke McMaster (formly of McMaster & James). From there Adrian recieved a position as a staff engineer working at Kinetic Sight and Sound with accomplished Producer and Composer Mark Nakamura where he worked on more of the production and songwriting side of the business. Since working at Kinetic Sight and Sound Adrian now works as a freelance engineer at a few recording studios in Toronto as well as now being a staff engineer at Studio 92.
